Installation of sewage treatment plant in Buxworth

Septic Tanks and Soakaways Ltd (STS) have recently completed the decommissioning of a septic tank system, and the installation of a Marsh Ensign sewerage treatment plant in its place. The job wasn’t without complications, which Steve and Lesley manged very well.

Challenges:

  • Access was restricted due to low bridges.
  • 35m of extra pipework needed to be installed across farmland and into a river.
  • Building inspectors required four staged visits.
  • Structural drawings were required due to the proximity of a boundary wall and dwelling.
  • The tank was being installed into a courtyard, requiring negotiation and permission from the owner for access.
  • Tank was shared by two properties, requiring the decommissioning of a second septic tank.
  • Due to limited access, hand mix several tonnes of concrete.

STS meticulously carried out all works to comply with Building Regulations, kept the site in a safe and tidy state, used new machinery and exceeded expectations with the finish. Steve initially took the time to recommend the right system, which was time well spent. The pros and cons of each system were carefully explained for the site location, plus getting the capacity right to future proof both houses, without compromising the system efficiency.

I highly recommend STS and was extremely happy with the whole process of the installation.
